Lug Your Mug 2009
Client: Digital Eskimo
During my internship at Digital Eskimo I was involved in a team work effort to help inspire the change within the local
community around Surry Hills in Sydney and beyond. Digital Eskimo launched the ‘Lug a Mug’ initiative as a simple way
to reduce the negative environmental impacts created by takeaway coffee cups.
It takes 40 litres of water to produce a take away cup of coffee. This being just the cup alone– If you include the
coffee and the lid- the total is 250 litres! And over four hundred million of these non-recyclable coffee cups are sent
to landfill each year in Australia. So every take away coffee cup you buy has an extremely negative impact on
the environment.
Concept designs for Lug a Mug kit to inspire the change, including posters, scorecard and stickers.
